Do you know it when you have feeling inside you, but you don’t know what to do with it? When something is bothering you deep inside and you don’t know what it is? Or you are stuck in a certain emotional state and can’t go on but you don’t know why?
Well, I know this very well. And when this happens I write music which helps me. Music to support me with inner processes. Music that helps me to go deep inside me and resolves my inner struggles.
But, it is not always easy. Some things are hidden deep inside us for a reason, and when my music starts digging them out it can be very unsettling and uncomfortable. So my music is nothing for people who like to keep things untouched. Sometimes I wonder why? Why wouldn’t anyone want to clean up? Anyway, this music is, not only, but especially for people for people interested in confrontation with themselves, for people willing to see things they didn’t expect.
My music is rather personal and open. You can find out a lot about me through my music. And just as it is possible to get to know yourself through the encounter with other people you can get to know yourself with the encounter with my music.
I write most of this website in the “I” form because I find it important to keep it all personal. Sometimes its written in the third person, mainly because of search engine optimization.
A subconsciousmind song is not FullOn, nor Progressive, nor Dark, nor Goa or whatever new subgenre is invented. A subconsciousmind song probably can be best described as melodic psychedelic trance. Like in the sense of the words. But for me it’s only about the effect of the music. My music is emotional, psychedelic music that puts me into a trance.
I know styles are important for people, they are not for me. “Style”, “Genre” thinking with music just keeps people from listening to music without prejudice. Categorizing music by style, to me, is just the same as categorizing people by superficial factors like nationality.
Any song in any genre can have any effect and any message. Any song in any genre can be emotional or not, honest or not, psychedelic or not, sad or happy or whatever and therefore has to be contemplated as unique without any prejudice just as every human being has to be. In my opinion at least.
It may sound a bit harsh, but I see it this way: If you define your musical taste via a genre or style it is the same thinking pattern as if you were defining your friends via their nationality. Everyone should try to find out what effect, what interaction he likes music to have and then look for songs working that way. I like it emotional and psychedelic.
